Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 July 2026

This policy explains what the Sunshine Coast Tech Alliance does with the information you give us through this website. If anything here is unclear, email info@sctechia.com.au and we can answer any questions you have.

Who we are

The Sunshine Coast Tech Alliance (the Alliance, we, us) is the peak industry body for the Sunshine Coast digital economy. You can reach us at info@sctechia.com.au for anything relating to your information or this policy.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the Alliance. Depending on which form you use, that is:

Membership registration

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address and phone number
  • Your organisation and your role in it
  • The organisation type you select
  • The membership tier you choose
  • The topics you tell us you are interested in
  • How you heard about us, if you tell us

Contact form

  • Your name, email address, organisation and your message

Speakers panel registration

  • Your name, email address, organisation and your areas of expertise

We do not collect sensitive information and we do not ask for it. Please do not include health, financial or other sensitive details in a message to us.

Payment details

We never see or store your card details. When you pay for membership you are sent to Stripe, and your card information is entered directly with them. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount, nothing more. Stripe's privacy notice is at stripe.com/au/privacy.

Why we collect it

  • To process your membership and keep an accurate member register
  • To invite you to Alliance events and send you member communications
  • To answer the question you have asked us
  • To match speaker requests from the community to the right people on our panel
  • To understand what our members care about so we run the right events

We will not use your information for a purpose you would not reasonably expect, and we will not send you marketing on behalf of another organisation.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not trade or rent member lists. We share it only with the services we use to operate, and only to the extent they need it:

  • Stripe processes membership payments
  • Netlify hosts this website and receives form submissions
  • Microsoft 365 hosts the Alliance email account
  • Safe Tickets handles ticketing where an event is ticketed

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

If you are a Business Member or Thought Leader, your organisation's logo appears on this website as part of your membership. That is the only member information we publish, and no individual's personal details are published without asking you first.

How long we keep it

We keep member records for as long as you are a member and for seven years after your membership ends, which covers our record-keeping obligations as an incorporated association. Contact form messages are kept for two years. Speakers panel entries are kept until you ask us to remove you.

Keeping it safe

Access to member information is limited to the board members and administrators who need it to do their job. This website is served over an encrypted connection, and the services listed above hold the data on our behalf under their own security arrangements. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not follow you across other websites.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Remove you from our mailing list
  • Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it

Email info@sctechia.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for asking.

If you are unhappy

Tell us first at info@sctechia.com.au and we will try to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell members by email.
